Historical Details: | Built on 11 acres adjacent to the B&O Railroad lines and I-95, and containing 700,000 square feet of storage space, the Montgomery Ward mail-order warehouse was large enough to supply the entire eastern United States. |
Technical Details: | The building is now occupied by the Maryland State Department of the Environment, and it recently underwent the installation of a 30,000 square foot extensive green roof over the former train shed. The building also contains numerous other "green building" technologies. |
