I am originally from Myanmar (Burma) in South East Asia. I grew up in a small town called Hinthada, about four-hour drive away from the city of Yangon, Myanmar. I came to the United States in Fall 2009 for undergraduate studies at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. That was my first time in the United States, and my first time experiencing the snow! I majored in civil engineering and economics at Bucknell. After graduating from Bucknell, I came to Hopkins in Fall 2014 to continue graduate studies in civil engineering (structures). My research interest is to discover and implement computerized optimization algorithms that can produce efficient designs of macro-scale structures such as high-rise buildings
